They are Salifu Karim, 50, a businessman, Adjetey Sowah, 25, a fisherman, Alhasan Opoku, 29, a farmer, and Daniel Nii Tetteh, 40, a driver.

They were said to have avoid arrest in the earlier case but this time around they run out of luck when the police laid ambush against them and arrested them while they were in a taxi.

Speaking with Graphic online Superintendent of Police, Mr Simons Agbodeka, said on January 15, 2015, the police had a tip-off that the suspects were dealing in a narcotic drug and laid ambush for them.

A thorough search was conducted after the taxi with registration number GS 1115Y with the suspects on board was intercepted.

“Two ‘Ghana must go’ bags were found. The bags contained dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and the persons on board were subsequently arrested,” Supt Agbodeka said.

He said though the four men claimed they did not know one another, the police found that they had each other’s mobile phone numbers saved on their phones.

Later, Karim claimed the bags were given to him by someone he named as Issah, to hand them over to a woman he did not know, but he failed to lead the police to the two persons.
