Woman beats husband to death in Nigeria

A son has revealed his mothers dark secret after she killed her husband and blamed it on armed robbers.

A 40-year-old mother of five, Mary Luka, has allegedly beaten her husband to death in Gonin-Gora village of Cikun local government area of Kaduna State, on Saturday, June 6.

Though Luka told the police that her husband died as a result of a robbery attack, her first son, Kefas, said his mother actually beat his father to death because he came back home late after an outing, after he failed to heed the several warnings of his wife not to stay out late.

On the date he was to keep a date with death, Kefas said he heard his mother and father arguing late at night and at about 3 am, he heard his father screaming for help and on rushing to their apartment, his mother shouted that it was armed robbers that were attacking them and told him not to enter the room.

Kefas further stated that by the time he managed to break the door into the room, he met his father vomiting blood and could no longer talk, without seeing any sign of the invaders his mother claimed attacked her and his father.

Hear the young man:

"I heard my father shouting around 3 am that day (Saturday) and so I called on my mother to inquire what was happening.

My mother shouted back at me from her room to keep off and remain quiet, that armed robbers were operating. The more I tried to get closer to my father’s room, the more my mother screamed thieves! thieves! thieves!

When I finally summoned up courage to enter my father’s room, I found him vomiting blood and he could no longer talk while my mother was still pretending that it was armed robbers that attacked him.

There was a heavy object by his side and he was bleeding profusely from his forehead. At daybreak, neighbours came around to help and the police outpost at Gonin-Gora arrested my mother and took her to Sabon Tasha Police station."
