Teacher Poisons Wife For Denying Him Sex

A 29-year-old teacher in Akyem Sekyere in the Atiwa District has allegedly poisoned his wife and the children for the wife denying sex.

The suspect, Ampofo Twum was arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command and has been charged for attempted murder.

He is currently in Police custody to assist in investigation.

According to a report by the Daily Guide, Ampofo Twum was said to have grounded a Club beer bottle and mixed it with okro stew while the wife had gone to church – with intent to poison the family.

The Anyinam District Police Commander, DSP Jeffery Darko, said the teacher at Akyem Sekyere Presbyterian Junior High School, last Sunday attempted to kill his wife, Rebecca Asirifi, for denying him sex.

He said Ampofo Twum ground a Club beer bottle and mixed it with some okro stew prepared by his wife before going to church and after the wife had served the food to the children upon her returned, discovered the particles of bottle in the okro stew.

According to DSP Darko, the accused after his arrest, pleaded guilty and said his wife did not render proper accounts on the sale of the commodities in a shop he had opened for her and had also been denying him sex several times.
