It was an interesting scene to behold when a 2nd Circuit court judge of Hawaii, Rhonda Loo ordered a defendant he was sentencing, Daren Young to write more than

Thought it is not extraordinary, the Huffington post reported the judge as having said “For every nasty thing you said about her, you’re going to say a nice thing,” 2nd Circuit Judge Rhonda Loo told Daren Young, 30, per the AP. “No repeating words.”

Daren Young was reportedly ordered in February to stop contacting his ex-lover, but he violated the order two months later by calling and texting her 144 times over a period of about three hours. The Maui News reported that Young was subsequently arrested and he spent 157 days in jail.

When the time was due for his sentencing on Friday, Young received time served and was again placed on two years’ probation.

In addition, Rhonda Loo also fined him $2,400 as well as 200 hours of community service. As if that was not enough, he then gave Young the writing assignment.

The judge said to Young “It’s so childish to think a grown man can be so thumb-happy.

“I hope you don’t have a phone anymore and, if you do, I hope you don’t have .”

An Ohio Judge Michael Cicconetti and Texas Judge Mike Peters have also reportedly made the headlines for similar sentencing.

Michael Cicconetti for instance once ordered two 19-year-olds to lead a donkey through the streets with a sign that said “Sorry for the jackass offense” after vandalizing a Nativity scene, according to the Huffington post.

Also, in 2004, Peters is on record to have sentenced a woman to 30 days in jail for starving two horses. On the first three days in prison, he ordered that she only be served bread and water.

Mike Peters said “She’s going to get more than her horses got.”
