Confusion as wife murders husband on Valentine's Day

There is serious confusion as no one can actually say what led to a wife killing her husband on Valentines Day.

There is confusion and puzzlement as friends, neighbours and family are still undecided over what could have led an otherwise loving couple to engage each other in a fight that led to the death of a man as a wife threw her husband over the balcony of their one-storey building.

According to the Punch Newspaper, the incident happened on February 14, 2015, a day which is celebrated world wide as St. Valentine's Day, at Adefowope Street, off Beach Road, Etegbin, in the Otto Awori local council of Lagos State.

The woman who was identified as Onyinyechi, from Nnewi in Anambra State, a teacher in a private school in the area, was said to have pushed her husband, George, from the storey building, leading to his death in the fight.

Though some neighbours claimed that the fight was as a result of the husband's failure to give his wife a treat on the lover's day, others claim that the couple had a disagreement over some money issues.

While an unidentified man who claimed to be a close family friend, insisted that the cause of the couple’s misunderstanding bordered on plans for Valentine’s Day, another of such close friends said the cause of the fight was monetary issue..

He said:

"A family friend had given George money to give to his wife as gift for their newborn baby.

George did not only keep the money to himself, he also did not tell his wife about it. Onyinyechi later met the man, who asked her if she got the gift he sent through her husband.

She was not only surprised, but furious that George could keep such a thing from her. It was in the process of asking him about it on the evening of Valentine’s Day that the fight started."
