A two-year-old boy was lucky when the Directorate of State Service rescued him from a kidnapper.
According to Director of the service in the state, Mr M Fubara, the suspect had planned to sell the child for N200,000 to child traffickers before luck ran out on him and he was nabbed by the eagle eyes of his men.
During a parade of the suspect and other suspected criminals, Fubara said the Okafor was picked up when his men got information about a syndicate that specializes in kidnapping children for ritual purposes and trafficking, especially with the elections at hand.
The boy's father, Henry Robert, revealed that he had known the suspect for a long time and said he never knew that Okafor could have such sinister motives towards his son.
The suspect who said he sold phones and other accessories in the state capital, confessed to his crimes, saying he was lured into the dirty job by friends.
