Crime Driver jailed for defiling a minor

A driver has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 15-year-old girl.

According to the Daily Guide Newspaper, the victim incurred the wrath of the convict, Adziwoe, when she turned down his invitation to join him watch a pornographic movie he was watching.

He maneuvered to have sex with the victim on August 17, this year, at Afuaman, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the prosecutor, the victim was on an errand when she got a call from an unknown number. She later identified the caller as Adziwoe, who is dating her elder sister.

The victim said Adziwoe asked her to come and see something on that faithful day. When she got to the house of Adziwoe, according to the prosecutor, he was watching a pornographic movie and invited the victim to watch with him.

The prosecutor said the victim told Adziwoe that she has been sent by her father and that she cannot join him to watch the movie.

When she made the attempt to step out of the room, Adziwoe locked the door, and forcefully had sex with her.

Later, the victim got home with mattress particles all spread on her head and when asked what had gone amiss, she failed to offer an answer but upon further interrogations, she claimed that the accused had forcefully slept with her.

The victim leave is a resident at Afuaman near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

The case was lodged at the police station, leading to the arrest and prosecution of the convict.

Adziwoe's lawyer,  Charles Ofori, pleaded for a mitigated sentence as a first time offender.

The court, presided over by Mrs. Ruby Naa Akwerley Quaison, held that the accused was a first offender and accordingly jailed him 10 years.
