Accused Person Collapsed On Way To Court

An accused rapist collapsed on his way to court and rushed to the hospital by the Police.

The 47-year-old taxi driver of Half-Assini, who was accused of defiling a 13 year old girl, collapsed on his way to the courtroom on Thursday morning.

Mr Armo-Kwaw was rushed to Half-Assini Government hospital by the Police where he was treated and discharged later in the day.

The accused person facing trial for allegedly defiling  a 13 year old Primary six pupil in Half-Assini, last Monday March 2, 2015.

According to the Ghana News Agency, The accused sent the victim for ‘iced water’ at about 9 pm on March 2, during electricity black-out in the town and on her return he lured her to his mother's compound at about 220 metres away and had sex with her in an uncompleted building.

The victim, who bled profusely in her private part of the act, reported her ordeal to her father who lodged a complaint to the Police. The accused was arrested and after investigations was arraigned before court.

The victim was also hospitalised for three days at the Half-Assini Government hospital.
