It was discovered by Accra-based TV3 during one of its investigations that that is the situation pupils go through every day and most of them sit on the bare floor to study due to inadequacy of desks.

Asked how they are able to handle the children, one of the teachers told TV3’s Bright Nana Anfoh that the situation is so unbearable.

Aside the congestion, another critical danger that the children are exposed to is the spread of communicable diseases. There may also be a stamped in case of any emergency, leading to loss of many precious lives.

With this condition, it is not clear if the teachers are able to make any impact on the children at the end of the day.

It was also obvious in the video footage that some of the children were even engaged in fights, wrestling on the blindside of the teacher while she taught she was teaching them.

This development underscores the need to pay more attention to the basic level of education.
