A 37-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Kwasi Tei allegedly went berserk and inflicted obscene machete wounds on his elder brother, a day after a misunderstanding ensued between the two.

The suspect is currently in the grips of the Juaso police.

Gabriel Kwabena Tei could not survive the incident which happened at Kokoben, a farming community in the Asante-Akim South Municipality.

According to the GNA, the District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Andrew Anyani who confirmed the incident said it happened on October 27.

The two siblings reportedly picked a quarrel on October 26, leading to a fight and they were separated by one Kwasi Agbemaflu.

The GNA reports that Agbemaflu thought it prudent to take the deceased with him to his cottage to spend the night in order to allow tempers to cool.

DSP Anyani said per information gathered by his outfit, the deceased decided to return home the next day, but the suspect got infuriated upon seeing his brother and attacked and inflicted a deep cutlass wound in his rib

The deceased was rushed to the Banka clinic for medical care and subsequently referred to the Juaso District Hospital, but he died on the way to the hospital.

Having been appalled by the act, other residents arrested and handed over the suspect to the police.
