Ex-marine fatally shoots wife at doctor’s office

A former Marine allegedly shot and killed his wife in a doctor’s office and later shot himself in the head before surrendering to state and local law enforcement officers on Monday in Jemison, Alabama, according to reports.

Eric Heath Price, 26, was charged with killing Leaj Jarvis Price, 24, at Jemison Internal Medicine in Jemison, Alabama, according toAL.com.

Shortly after the shooting on Monday morning, Price posted on Facebook, according to AL.com. "Im sorry everyone, it’s been real, good bye and i love you all," he wrote. "I dei today."

The shooting happened following a domestic dispute at the couple's house, according to ABC 13. Leaj Price fled the house for the doctor's office.

Dr. Jay Patel was at work on Monday in an exam room when he heard screams, he told the news outlet.

When he went to the main entrance of the office, he found Leaj Price trying to get inside, but her husband, Eric, pulled her back.

"He wouldn't let go of her hand and he just stood at the doorway," Patel said.

After a struggle between the husband and wife, Price and the patient left the main entrance and Patel locked about a dozen people in the back room.

"Before anything could happen, I heard a pop, then I heard her stop screaming," Patel said.

Police say the gunman then returned home, according to the Associated Press.

Police talked to him over the phone and a loudspeaker. They didn't shoot any bullets but fired tear gas into the home.

When Price walked outside, he had a gunshot wound to the head.

Price and his late wife have a 6-year-old son together.

Price is being treated at a local hospital, people.com added.
