‘Hungry’ snake bites owner to death

Police sources say investigations are underway to figure out whether the snake is blamable for its master's death.

A 31-year-old snake handler was found dead in his bedroom just yards away from his pet python.

Dan Brandon who is said to be well known for his good experience in handling dreadful snakes, reportedly suffered severe injuries leading to his death at his home in Hampshire, where he lived with his parents and a collection of exotic pets.

According to the Dailymail, one of his pet snakes, which can grow up to 25ft, was found slivering near his lifeless body, after ostensibly escaping from its pen.

Prior to his death, the young man was a strong animal fanatic and he often posted photos of him with his pets, including a huge Burmese python draped over his body, to his social media accounts.

Experts believe this would be the first time a python would have killed a human in Britain.

Sources say the death “is under investigation whether the snake was involved. The death is in an investigation stage between natural causes and an inquest.

“Investigators are waiting for the full toxicology results and reports to come back from a post-mortem. Depending on the results, an inquest may be opened."

Hampshire Police is however investigating the death. Its spokesperson disclosed that, “We were called to an address in Church Crookham. A 31-year-old man had suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
