Nigerian police officers caught red handed urinating in public

Are Nigerian police officers above the law?

Late last year, Pulse.ng witnessed how some Nigerian police officers maltreated a man they arrested for urinating in a canal in the Surulere area of Lagos State. The man and even passersby pleaded with the officers to let him go but they refused, beat him up and took him to their station where he was made to part with a fine for breaking the law.

But this morning, as Lagosians awaited the arrival of President Goodluck Jonathan for the first leg of the PDP presidential election campaign rally, these 'gallant' officers of the law were caught red handed breaking the law opposite the Tafawa Balewa Square venue of the rally.

Does this mean that police officers are above the law?
