Otiko Djaba covers 'swagger' hairstyle for Budget reading

Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba has covered her signature and swagger hairstyle as she stepped out to Parliament today for the reading of the 2017 budget by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The 55-year-old parliamentarian is looking stunning in her Kente Kaba creatively designed with lace for her sleeves and form fitting slit.

Otiko accessorized her look with pearls; earrings and necklace. She styled her African themed-appearance with mild makeup looking gorgeous as always.

The mother-of-three defended her 'outlandish' hairstyle, that was the subject of criticism and ridicule on social media during the ministerial vetting.

According to the Minister, "I can relate better to the youth because I’m a ‘swagger’ mama and I believe I’m the best person to encourage the youth because they feel comfortable with me. They see me and they say ‘I want to be like you. The youth I am dealing with are okay with me and I am okay with them and that is what matters the most.”

Delving into her background, Otiko’s mother’s brother is John Mahama’s father. So she is closely related to the very man she described as having the devil’s heart.

Mahama is not only the relative of Otiko who is a leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress. Former deputy minister of Transport, Joyce Bawa, is the half-sister of Otiko Djaba. They have the same mother.
