Ghanaian fashion has seen vast improvement over the past decade.  From the fabulous red carpet photos and the many fashion shows, Ghana is gradually beginning to grasp and appreciate the fashion world and what statement fashion designers in Ghana can make on the international stage. Jason Boateng is a Ghanaian UK based stylist turned fashion designer. Jason has worked with celebrities including Will.I.Am, Nicki Minaj, Lola Rae, Yvonne Nelson, Iyanya, Nizzy and many more. He started out as a stylist, and has since diversified into designing with his womenswear line and a successful number of collections under his belt.

The Ghanaian designer in an interview disclosed that “he was into fashion at about the age of 5 and he always knew that he wanted to be a fashion designer.”

In talking about what inspires him to create, he sighted labels such as Balmain, Gucci and Tom Ford, who love to do a lot of bead work and detailing. Although expensive and time consuming, he finds it rewarding.
