Barclays Center, New York came to life on Saturday, July 23 with Afro-pop and Afrobeats sounds emerging from the black continent as the first US edition of the One Africa Music Fest was held.
Aside breathtaking live performances from Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Flavour, Wale, Davido, Diamond Platnumz, Seun Kuti, Machel Montano, Jidenna, Don Jazzy, Timaya, Praiz, and Ayo Jay, Ghana’s Stonebwoy and Efya raised the bars and made the country proud with a collaborative effort.
Hosted by self-acclaimed ‘Africa R&B King’ Banky W, the show started with Nigerian R&B star ad Project Fame West Africa second runner-up, Praiz, before Efya serenaded her way into hearts, with vibrant Afrocentric costumes and moves.
Afro-Dancehall/Ragga star, Stonebwoy, also took over the stage to thrill patrons with numerous hits from his catalogue and later collaborated with Efya right on stage for what was more than a performance.
Contrary to rumours trending yesterday that he didn’t perform and was sacked from the stage by Wizkid, Pulse.com.gh has gathered that they are false.
One of the attendees confirmed to Pulse.com.gh reporter, David Mawuli that Stonebwoy performed and that, he was among the opening performers.
One Africa Music Festival was powered by Upfront and Personal Event Management Company.
