Stonebwoy, AJ Nelson and Wiyaala nominated as 2016 Ghana Carnival ambassadors

Hip-hop artiste, AJ Nelson represents the Brong Ahafo Region; Singer, songwriter and actress Wiyaala represents the Upper West Region and singer, actor and poet, Stonebwoy represents the Volta Region.

Hip-hop artiste, AJ Nelson represents the Brong Ahafo Region; Singer, songwriter and actress Wiyaala represents the Upper West Region and singer, actor and poet, Stonebwoy represents the Volta Region.

This follows a move to encourage all parts of the nation of Ghana to participate in the Ghana National Carnival in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

“As representatives of their regions, these individuals have proved that you can stay true to yourself and be proud of where you come from.  It is such positive attitude which qualified them as Ghana Carnival Ambassadors for their regions,” says Maria Lovell.

The other 7 nominees are expected to be announced today, July 1, 2016.

The third Ghana Carnival was launched in Accra on Tuesday, May 17 by Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, Minister of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts.

The 3-day event would start on the July 1, 2016 with a carnival float from the Obra spot at the Kwame Nkrumah interchange through some principal streets in Accra to the independence square for the exhibition and sale of made-in-Ghana goods, food bazaar, talent hunts, pick and acts etc.

The second and third day would feature a mammoth beach jam at the Labadi pleasure beach from 12:00pm.
