The organisers of the annual 3Music Awards have admitted to owing actress and TV/Radio host, Joselyn Dumas.
This comes following Wednesday afternoon Twitter rant from the “Keeping It Real with Joselyn Dumas” show host.
In the rant, she revealed that she is yet to receive payment from her hosting gig at the maiden edition of the awards ceremony held on Saturday, March 24, at the Fantasy Dome, Accra International Trade Fair Centre.
“Dear @3musicAwards when you hire the service of a talent and you agree on a payment, you honour your end of the bargain as I honoured mine... no one works for free,” she tweeted.
She added: “we can’t even support our own...yet we sit back and are quick to point fingers and judge especially female entertainers in Ghana. When you work you are expected to be paid!! This cycle of using talent and not paying must stop @3musicawards.”
Reacting to this, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the founder of the award scheme, has admitted to owing the actress.
Sadiq told Pulse.com.gh in an exclusive interview that her payment was delayed due to difficulty in accessing funds from sponsors.
“Yes, we owe Joselyn Dumas,” he told Pulse.com.gh adding that “We are still gathering funds from sponsors. You know, it takes a while to access monies from sponsors hence the delay.”
He assured Joselyn Dumas’ management to settle the debt by the end of this month (July).
Joselyn Dumas hosted this year's ceremony with Black Avenue Muzik record label owner, D-Black.
