According to the Vice President of NAGRAT, Angel Carbonu, the Association was not surprised at the challenges being faced with SHS placement.
He said "I am not too comfortable with the 48-hour deadline that was given. Let us extend the time. Let us recognize that we are dealing with a human situation of preference and choice."

The GES had given them 48 hours to log onto myjshresults.netand select an option available to them within 48 hours.
According to GES Director General Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, many students including those who were placed have not been able to check their postings.
Prof Opoku-Amankwa said: "In the past for candidates of that kind, we used our own discretion to place them in schools and we had challenges, they complained that they’ve been placed in schools that they did not select."

A total of 267,327 candidates secured places in schools of their choice, whilst 150,770 candidates could not be placed in schools of their choice.
In addition, out of the total number of 460,941 registered candidates, 424,092 candidates representing 92% qualified to be placed, according to the GES.

However, the Minister of Education Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has announced that 36,849 out of a total of 460,941 candidates who sat for the BECE who passed and qualified will be placed into senior high schools.
He said qualified candidates who were not posted have been given the second chance to report for the necessary corrections to be made.
