Yvonne Nelson in 2005 took part in Ghana’s prestigious pageant but could not emerge winner. She later auditioned at Farmhouse for a TV series, “Fortune Island” which was not aired. She subsequently starred in Princess Tyra where she played the lead role which shot her to fame.

The actress in an interview with Kwaku Sakyi Addo on Starr FM’s the Lounge said she would not have been an actress if she had won the Miss Ghana contest.

“Thank God I didn’t win Miss Ghana because I wouldn’t be acting,” she said.

Yvonne has starred in a number of movie including Keep My Love, Tears of Womanhood, Crime to Christ, Festival of Love, Local Sense, One Night in Vegas and Heart of Men.

She has also ventured in movie production and has produced House of Gold, If Tommorow Never Comes and Single, Married & Complicated.

The movies have received positive reviews from industry players and sold out during their respective premieres.

Single, Married & Complicated, a sequel to her 2012 Single & Married movie, made history as the movie premiere which recorded the highest figures at Silverbirds Cinemas’ box office.
