#DumsorMustStop is not a political campaign

Speaking on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM on Wednesday morning, Yvonne explained that, any affiliation to any political party would “compromise” her position so what she is doing has nothing to do with politics.

NDC’s Stephen Atubiga, yesterday said that, actress Yvonne Nelson is doing the hatchet job of the opposition, New Patriotic Party with her ongoing #Dumsormuststop campaign.

The actress has replied to his comments saying the campaing is not for any political party, insisting that she is fronting the anti-power outage campaign as a “voice for the voiceless”.

“People are saying the campaign is political, they need to now #dumsormuststop is not a political campaign”, she said.

According to her, the president as a leader, needs to deliver and if he cares, he should do something about the power crisis.

“We have a leader, if he cares about his people, he should do something about it. He is a leader; he needs to deliver, he has the power to decide what’s good for the country… All of us are Ghanaians. We just need a better Ghana,” she told Naa Kordey on the Ultimate brunch

She however added that, she would continue to press on him until the ‘dumsor’ problem is completely solved.

Asked if she would welcome the president at the vigil should he attend as rumours suggest, Nelson said: “Why not? He is a citizen of Ghana and everyone is invited", she said.

"But he is the one who has to solve this problem and it would be really cool to have him join us to answer some of these questions”, she added.
