Legendary highlife artiste, Nana Kwame Ampadu has said that the news of Amakye Dede and his team’s involvement in an accident which resulted in the death of the manager came to him as a great shock.

“I didn’t believe it when I heard the news. However, upon further checks and subsequent confirmation, I got worried. I was shocked got more worried, especially after hearing that they had parked and the car rammed into theirs. It’s sad that his manager passed on; but when I heard Amakye is alive, I told myself that at least, not all were wiped away. I’m sure Amakye is not through with his work on earth that is why he survived. The death of his manager is worrying but God gives and takes. What we have to do is to give him a befitting burial,” a sorrowful Nana Ampadu told Happy FM.

Amakye Dede’s Toyota Corolla car was rammed into by a Sprinter bus from Kumasi with him inside it, as he was waiting to perform at a show at the Paradise Spot, a few meters away from the popular Linda Dor Restaurant.

The sad incident which occurred on New Year Day led to the death of his manager, Isaac Yeboah. Amakye Dede’s bodyguard was also injured. Both are responding to treatment at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and 37 Military Hospital respectively.
