After he was tried for narcotic offences and sentenced to day's imprisonment, hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese has asked the youth to stay clear of illicit drugs.

“One year on, God has been good to me. I have graduated from a kid to a man and want to urge the youth to stay away from drugs… There are different drugs the youth have indulged in these days like cocaine, codeine, weed etc. which affect them health wise. So I always tell my brothers that kontomire (spinach) is green, one can only prepare stew with it and avoid problems with the law but do drugs and then end up with the police,” he said in an interview with Dr Pounds on Hitz FM’s Hitz Gallery.

Kwaw Kese was arrested by the Police in Kumasi on November 22, 2014 for allegedly smoking in public, a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Fante rapper was on April 23, 2015 sentenced to a day's imprisonment and a fine of 1,200 by Justice William Boampong.
