Shatta Wale has described some of his fellow Ghanaian musicians as stupid for not speaking up about the loopholes in the music industry.
The 32-year-old record producer and Afro-Dancehall performer made this statement yesterday on Facebook.
He went live on his official Facebook page to address Mark Okraku Mantey’s statement passed on his career in 2014.
During an interview at Edem’s “Books” “n” “Rhymes” album launch in May 2014, the C.E.O of Slip Music stated that Shatta Wale’s music cannot stand the test of time because he produces songs which last for few months.
“….Not people who get hits for 6 months, like Shatta. His music, mark it on the wall, cannot last the test of time,” he said.
Responding to the statement, Shatta Wale started off by taking a swipe at fellow musicians who he believes are not contributing to the music industry.
“There’s some sh*t going on in Ghana that I don’t want to talk about but I think it’s too much for me. I don’t do music for the music industry or Ghana Music Awards because I have already said it’s not credible,” he said.
He added: “Most Ghanaian artistes are so stupid to the extent that they can’t even talk. And anyone who will hate me for making this statement, your mother. I want you to understand that radio stations didn’t make me. I changed my name Bandana without their help. The industry doesn’t help us.”
