“I feel ashamed of my wee comment” - K.K Fosu

Days after saying that 99% of Ghanaian musicians use marijuana to enhance their performance on stage, highlife artiste, K.K Fosu has apologised for his ‘unfortunate and ignorant’ comments.

Days after saying that 99% of Ghanaian musicians use marijuana to enhance their performance on stage, highlife artiste, K.K Fosu has apologised for his ‘unfortunate and ignorant’ comments.

The singer in an interview on Hitz FM alleged that, a chunk of musicians ‘take’ marijuana.

“I’ve never set my eyes on cocaine before. Way back, when you talk about marijuana, we are the artiste and so far as you are an artiste, you want to pass through certain angles. Marijuana fine, everybody takes. I will say that 99% of Ghanaian musicians use it; but for cocaine, I don’t know and I’ve never set my eyes on it before,” he said.

K.K Fosu came under public backlash for his comment while gospel musician, threatened to take legal action against him.

This has led to the highlife artiste rendering an unqualified apology to Ghanaian musicians, radio presenters and the general public. According to him, it was a slip of tongue.

“I, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu popularly known in showbiz circles as KK Fosu on my own behalf and on behalf of my management would like to render an unqualified Apology to all Musicians in Ghana and Stakeholders of the music industry for the unfortunate and derogatory remarks I made on some showbiz platforms about the use of marijuana in Ghana,” a statement from the artiste said.

“Upon careful reflection and analysis of the statement I made, I feel ashamed for those remarks because it is unfortunate and ignorant of me as a pioneer of the music industry. I bow my head in shame and ask for the forgiveness of all whom have been affected by this unfortunate slip of tongue,” the statement added.
