'I'm not afraid of Parliament' - Blakk Rasta

Reggae musician, Blakk Rasta says about 80 percent of Members of Parliament smoke marijuana.

 

Controversial reggae artist and radio presenter with Accra based Hitz FM, Blakk Rasta has disclosed been called to the privileges committee of the Ghanaian parliament to answer questions on his utterance that 80% of its members use marijuana will be the least of his worries.

Speaking on News Night on Joy FM, the presenter disclosed almost everybody knowingly or unknowingly used the illegal substance hence his utterance which makes MPs no exception. Read more

Reacting to news that parliament was not enthused about his accusation and will be made to face them soon, the presenter took a shot at them and said, “You must be kept in the zoo if in this age you still think marijuana is only smoked.”

He continued saying; “Marijuana is being used for hair creams, pomade, trampoline, etc……. these MPs may have used shoes, shirts, fuel or anything that were manufactured from marijuana fibre”

The presenter who stated categorically that although he doesn’t smoke, the reasons for making marijuana illegal was uncalled for since it was based on racist grounds and the earlier Ghanaians legalized it, the better for the economy since its commercial value could not be underestimated.

Speaking on his preparedness to meet the privileges committee of parliament if called, Blakk Rasta disclosed that was the least of his worries and was ready to face them any day.

“I’m not really concerned about the parliamentarians, it’s about the people”, he said.
