‘The Man In Sane’ Shares His 2014 Year Experience And Life In Prison

Embattled hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese interviewed on Bola Ray’s “Starr Drive” show on Starr Fm on Wednesday, January 14 where he shared his 2014 year experience and how his life in prison went.

Mad Time Records artiste, Kwaw Kese had a very bad year in 2014 – from his divorce to the death of his manager and friend, Fennec Okyere and now, his arrest over smoking a substance suspected to be cannabis in Kumasi on November 23, 2014. He has learned and observed several things which he could not keep to himself alone and thus, has to share with Ghanaians and his fans for deterrence and lessons.

Embattled hiplife artiste was for the first time interviewed after he was granted bail on Bola Ray’s “Starr Drive” show on Starr Fm on Wednesday, January 14 where he shared his 2014 year experience and how his life in prison went. He had been on remand for several weeks until the court granted him bail on December 30 on health grounds.

According to ‘Abodam’ who is currently facing trial at a Kumasi magistrate court for publicly smoking weed, there was jubilation among inmates of the Kumasi Central Prison when he arrived there.

“They knew I was coming so it was jubilation. They were all amazed, you know it was all over radio that I was coming and they have radios and TVs in there, so they knew Kwaw Kese was coming to the cell. Some of them were like: 'If they had not been in prison, they would never have seen me” ‘The Man insane’ told Bola Ray.

Kwaw Kese has also observed that freedom is the most expensive thing in the world and has therefore advised his fans not to abuse their freedom, since they risked losing it. To him, his few weeks of incarceration in cells have made him appreciate what it means to have one’s freedom.

“Freedom is expensive…use freedom wisely because it’s very expensive…it’s the most expensive” he advised his fans.

Upon all the frustrations he went through in cells, the self-acclaimed “King of the streets” was a judge over a singing and dancing competition in prison. “You know, in there, they have games, they have singing and dancing competitions and I was the judge in the singing competitions.” he said

Overall, 2014 year was a hell for Kwaw Kese. He admitted on the ‘Starr Drive’ show that the year 2014 was a difficult one for him.

“It was a bad year. 2014 was a bad year but for me I think everything is God’s doing. I give thanks for life. I know things happen, people go through a lot and things happen to make man a stronger being and I think those things have made me a stronger person now,” he said.
