Akwaboah Jnr defends “irresponsible” fathers

He believes no father will deliberately ignore his children.

Following comments that Fathers’ Day does not get the same or close attention Mothers’ Day receives because most fathers are irresponsible, Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah known in showbiz circles as Akwaboah has said that no father will deliberately ignore his children.

“I don’t think any father will deliberately shed his responsibilities… The challenges life comes with makes it difficult for them to cater for their children; though some fathers are lazy,” son of the legendary Kwadwo Akwaboah said on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show,

When show host Abrantepa asked why there are not so many songs to celebrate fathers as in the case of mothers, the singer observed that musicians have probably not paid attention to that. He subsequently disclosed his intentions of recording one.

“I believe we (musicians) are partly to blame. I have thought of this for over a year that as musicians we have to come together and compose songs that celebrate fathers because fathers, like mothers go through a lot. I have noticed that Rex Omar has set the pace. I am also preparing to come out with mine and I am sure my colleagues will follow suit,” he said.
