“I was trained as Gospel singer but highlife came as part of my career. The ‘Hosanna’ song was to thank God for what he had done for me in the past; that is why we chose to celebrate it on my special day. Though I have never celebrated my birthday, this one will be splendid,” Lumba said.

Known for his hit singles, Aben Wo Ha, Molemole, Tokrom, Nea Wo Ho Beto Wo and Anadwo Ye De, the fifty-one year old said he was not retiring from music any time soon as speculated. According to him, he is dedicated to helping younger ones in the music industry.

“The more you grow, the more you are motivated to do music. I am not going to retire, but will help young and coming artistes with my God given talent in music,” he noted.
