He said the last time he stepped foot in a church was 16 years ago, attributing his latest decision to personal experiences.

“I will never attend church again because of what I have seen. I was born into the Pentecost church. But I realised we are deceiving ourselves,” he said on the Delay Show which was aired on Friday.

In the wide ranging interview, Dada KD also opened up about the issues connected to his divorce.

According to him, his inability to perform the marriage rites with the woman he stayed with for 10 years may have been the cause.

“In Europe, when you stay with a woman and you procreate, she is your wife,” he explained, adding that he was expected to perform the traditional marriage rites which he could not fulfil.

He stirred up controversy this year when he suggested that no Gospel musician can win Artiste of the Year in Ghana.

He said the 'jealous and hypocritical' nature of gospel musicians has impeded their ability to win the ultimate in the Ghana Music Awards.

"They claim they are preaching the word of God but there is jealous attitude among themselves which can never make them win any best artist of the year till the world comes to an end," he said.

He also attacked g gospel music star, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, saying his brand of music is not gospel music.

Omane Acheampong hit back at the highlife artist on DESS FM Entertainment Show, questioning him about the number of Artiste of the Year he has won as a Highlife artiste.

"Is Dada KD not a musician? Has he won Artist of the Year before? Why can't he win one for himself if he's not a hypocrite and jealous? He started music in early 90s and we have not heard him win Artiste of the Year. Does that mean he is also a hypocrite? He should rather come again. He should mind his own business because hypocrisy and jealously are everywhere not only with gospel musicians."

Dada KD is well known for his love songs. Since his emergence on the music scene, he has release a number of hit songs including 'Fatia Fata Nkrumah,' 'Ene Minye,' 'Odo' and 'Tofeee."
