Prez. John Mahama, football stars attend Stephen Appiah's testimonial match

Presidents, International football stars, black stars graced Stephen Appiah testimonial match yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama , former presidents of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufour graced the testimonial match for ex-Black Stars Captain, Stephen Appiah, yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match was a farewell game for Stephen Appiah as he retires from active football after 20 years of football success and world wide recognition.

President John Dramani kicked the ball to commence the game.

Cameroonian footballer, Samuel Eto'o, former Togolese  Captain, Emmanuel Adebayor and a host of other world recognised football stars descended were present  the Accra Sports Stadium for the send off ceremony.

Sulley Muntari, Sammy Adjei, Richard Kingston, Atsu, Agyemany Badu and other Black stars players were present

The match ended in a 2-2 draw between the Appiah XI vs Ghana.  The former Juventus midfielder, Stephen Appiah opened the scoring for the Appiah XI side in the first half but Asamoah Gyan pulled even for the Black Stars side later on.

Bernard Acheampong and Baffour Gyan also scored for the Black Stars and Appiah XI respectively after coming on much later in the game.The former Black stars skipper, a box-to-box midfielder,  lead Ghana to qualify for her first World Cup in Germany in 2006.
