Leonardo DiCaprio is suing French Magazine over Rihanna rumours

The case involving Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio and Oops! magazine is set to go before a Paris court on June 16

The "Wolf of Wall Street" star, Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio has filed the lawsuit against Oops! magazine over a cover story published on May15, 2015 which alleged that DiCaprio got the Barbadian singer, Rihanna pregnant and want nothing to do with her or the baby.

Leonardo's legal team have filed the suit in a French court demanding the magazine retracts the story and pays him the maximum compensation French law allows, namely of 18,000 Euros, or around $US20,000 in damages plus legal fees.

The 40-year-old, became aware of the magazine's claims when he was in France for the Cannes International Film Festival.

Frederic Truskolaski, owner of Oops! magazine revealed they knew its story was a fabricatioin. He said, "we didn't know' if Rihanna was pregnant but 'thought she might be. We were not sure, of course".

Leonardo is not just suing because of the claim, the website reports, but also because pictures of him used violate France's strict right to privacy laws.
