KOD Bows Out Of Radio Gold

Renowned radio and TV personality, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has retired his 18-year radio career with Accra-based Radio Gold.

Since joining Radio Gold some 18 years ago, Kofi Okyere Darko helped to position the station as one of the most listened urban radio stations in Accra.

However, KOD may host his last show this week and properly part ways with his lovely listeners.

Friends and well wishers at the station have been informed of his departure. He joined Radio Gold in 1997.

KOD is said to be mentored by ace broadcaster and fashion icon Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) and Yaw Addo Darkwa.

Born at Winneba in 1977, he hails from Ashanti Mampong, and Akrokyere. He is also a Fashion Designer, Television Presenter, an Events Host and Artiste Manager.

It was rumoured few weeks that KOD has quit the Laterbiokorshie radio station.

KOD, one can say has been able gain for himself the fame and money that comes for begin in the industry.

But as everything surely comes to an end, it seems the days of seeing KOD in showbiz might be coming to a quick end sooner than expected.

The designer of the nineteen57 clothing line shared a picture of him and the beautiful Jocelyn Dumas last last week with the caption, “#ThrowbackThursday”

This year marks my 18th year in showbiz. Looking back, I know God has been and continues to be good. ..Retirement is close. ..Maybe in a few weeks or days”.

He also thanked all those who one way or the other helped him make it through as he writes. “Thanks to all the loved ones who have made it easy and difficult to sail through, it's been worth it so far with loads of lessons”.
