Reports suggested that the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Years faced a technical hitch moments after his opening performance. He was subsequently compelled to halt for the challenge to be resolved.

EL was reportedly booed during his performance as he kept saying he wished to make a statement concerning an issue he was not happy with.

Speaking on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz, Bulldog condemned the reaction of the audience and asked that Ghanaians grow. According to him, booing EL was uncalled for.

“Ghanaians should grow. If it were a Ghana show and you were rooting for Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, I won’t mind. But we have visitors in there. It’s more like we are pitching Ghana against Nigeria. How stupid can we be? It doesn’t make any sense. I believe that some of these things should stop. If we don’t push our stars, who will?” he queried.

Bulldog cited instances where a section of the public made some derogatory comments about MzVee after the singer was nominated for the 2016 Black Entertainment Television (BET Awards).

“Look at MzVee’s nomination; we are talking backwards. I think we should grow. If we don’t, we will wallow around and nothing positive will happen. What has EL done? What has MzVee done for us to be throwing all sorts of nonsense about?” he noted.

Meanwhile, EL has stated that he was not angry but frustrated because plans by his team for the event were not executed due to the challenge.

“I wasn’t angry, I was just frustrated. It’s a technical thing and you cannot predict the way machines will work. I heard the machine was heating up so someone had to pull some things out… You can’t blame anybody for that… There were so many things we planned to do but we couldn’t. I guess next time, we are going to have a real serious talk about this with anybody who will be involved so that we can avoid it” he told Hitz FM.
