Lawyer for embattled Ekow Micah, Dr Maurice Ampaw has said he knows who implicated his client in the narcotic saga.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the barrister said he knew Ekow Micah was set up and knew who was behind it from the onset.

“Ekow Micah was at the police station for interrogation over the sextape involving Asamoah Gyan and Sarah Kwabla. While he was at the police station, someone went to his house to look for him but was told by his nine year old daughter that he wasn’t around. The visitor then asked the child to go buy him water. Upon her return, the visitor had gone to the sitting room. He told the girl he was leaving and left a message for the father. In less than an hour, the police told Ekow Micah they have to go with him to his house so they could search there. When they got there, the police went and picked the substance from exactly where the visitor sat… As for some of us, we believed we knew what was going on… those who planted it, some of us, we know what’s going on,” he said.

When the barrister was asked who could be behind it, his response was, “Who has interest in Ekow Micah going to jail? Who has Ekow Micah offended? Through who was Ekow Micah arrested? Who wants Ekow Micah jailed? To serve whose interest? If you ask these questions, you would know who orchestrated it. Ask Ekow Micah who came to him to do ABCD against Sarah Kwabla so they drop the case?”

Show host, KMJ asked if his statement meant Asamoah Gyan masterminded the act.

“I’ve not mentioned Asamoah Gyan. Whom the cap fits, let him wear it. I have not mentioned Asamoah Gyan. I said who are those who caused the arrest of Ekow Micah and who are those who went to him to start negotiations? These are the people and they know themselves… I’m giving you clues. This is what we call innuendos,” Maurice Ampaw answered.

Highlife artiste, Ekow Micah was arrested to help the police in the investigations into a blackmail and extortion complaint filed by Asamoah Gyan’s manager against Osarfo Anthony, a journalist alleged to have demanded an amount of GH¢25,000 from the Gyan camp so he would prevent further negative publications on the Black Stars captain.

The police reportedly chanced upon a substance believed to be marijuana in the highlife musician’s house in the course of investigations into the Asamoah Gyan's sextape saga.

Ekow Micah was acquitted and discharged on Monday as prosecution was unable to prove his guilt.
