Yvonne Nelson was included in the list because of her selfless dedication to the #DumsorMustStop vigil
Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson was named as one of Africa's 'top 50 trailblazers' by The Africa Report magazine.
Paris-based magazine described the celebrities as "pioneers who will lead us to the Africa of tomorrow.
Yvonne Nelson was chosen based on her selfless dedication to the #DumsorMustStop vigil.
"In a country where most celebrities avoid straddling the line between showbiz and politics, the Ghanaian actress most recently caught the attention of the public and political elite when she co-launched a protest march -with celeb colleagues Lydia Forson and Sarkodie- against the power crisis in the country," The Africa Report writes.
Other stars who were acknowledged in the magazine include Ivorian footballer Didier Drogba, South African politician, Julius Malema and Nigeria's richest man, Aliko Dangote.
The other two Ghanaians in the top-50 are writer/filmmaker, Nana Oforiatta-Ayim and Preacher and motivational speaker, Mensa Otabil.
