Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, has revealed that he started gaining weight in 2010, when his plans of contesting for MUSIGA presidency was finalised. The President of the Musicians Union Of Ghana (MUSIGA) has been trending on social media with regards to a photo of him playing football during the Star Soccer Fiesta held over the weekend in Kumasi.
In a interview with Accra based radio station, Citi FM, Obour explained that his family and close friends have been complaining about his obesity and it is really "embarrassing".
Obour added that he has started a weight loss campaign by occasionally fasting for 15 days, embarking on serious diet and visiting the gym regularly, however his pot belly kept increasing whereas other parts of his body were reducing.
Obour also said that he skips breakfast and plays football every Saturday. He added that used to walk every evening but stopped due to his evening meetings and other MUSIGA organised programs.
Talking about the social media reactions to his pot belly, he said that he was rather expecting people to congratulate him for playing football to lose his pot belly instead of giving out harsh comments like ''he has swallowed football' , "he eats very late in the night" and others. Obour in reply said, "I am heavy but I am quite fit".
Obour is a father of two, Nana, almost 5, Maame Yaa, almost 2. He added that his wife is pursing course in the USA for the last two years and he travels every 4 months to visit them.
Obour added, he is good Christian and his passion is to win souls , precisely 100 souls every year for christ. Obour has been MUSIGA President for 3 years, and he is looking for a re-election. He revealed that he had to put his sixth album on hold to promote the vision of the Ghana Music Association by contesting for the MUSIGA President.
