Student didn’t fail her exams

The Public Relations Officer of the institution Kwame Yeboah said even though the cause of the suicide is yet to be known, reports that she failed her exams are false.

He also added that another allegation that Adwoa Agyarkwa Anyimadu- Antwi took her life because she was jilted by her boyfriend is also untrue.

“The issue has even changed to the fact that her boyfriend jilted her. All those information are not the fact and are false. So tomorrow the university will issue a statement [on the matter]. One thing we must also take note of is that the lady died and the circumstances we are not aware of. She was taken to the hospital and she was declared dead on arrival, so the corona’s report will be needed to determine the cause of the death. So let us wait till that is out.”

In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Yeboah called on the media to desist from speculating and wait for an actual report which may indicate the cause of death

“I will plead that the media houses should just take their time for us to dive into what really created the problem we have on our hands now. The reports are not yet out and the police are also conducting their own investigations so we have to wait for the findings of the investigation,” he added.

The first daughter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akim central constituency of the Ashanti region, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi was found dead on Friday morning in her hostel room.

She left a note behind which read ‘am sorry to disappoint you mummy and daddy for not being the girl you want me to be’.
