“We are immensely proud of what you have achieved at such a young age as Africa first ever representative at the Scripps Spelling Bee global competition. I have heard many congratulating you for making Africa proud. Indeed you are more than a Ghanaian or African champion, you are a global champion.

Out of over 11 million young people across the world who signed up, you stood tall. You made it to the finals as one of the top 20 spellers across the world. You have truly demonstrated great potential and inspired many people – young and old“.

“To start you off on your journey to greatness, we are offering a full scholarship to see you through your last year in school. This is our way of congratulating you for being an example to your peers.“

Afua, 14, is a final year student at the Christ the King School in Accra. Her family expressed their immense gratitude to the network for “investing in the life of Afua“.
