4-year SHS students performed better than 3-years - Prof Aryeetey

Senior High School or SHS education was introduced in 2007 after a debate amongst educationists in the country over the expansion of the system to four years.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ernest Aryeetey

According to him, students who stayed longer in senior high school have so far performed better in university.

"I think I have gathered from my colleagues and others that the longer students have stayed in school the better they are for the university.

"Students who came to my university with four-year background did better than those who came with three years," he told Accra-based Starr FM.
