Radford Final year fashion design students showcase their work

Seventeen final year students from the class of 2016 presented their final year collection to an audience that was made up of the school’s board of directors, faculty members, parents and international partners.

The 4th edition of Radford University’s Graduate Fashion show has taken place at the Kempinski hotel.  Seventeen final year students from the class of 2016 presented their final year collection to an audience that was made up of the school’s board of directors, faculty members, parents and international partners.

Prior to the show, an exhibition took place at the forecourt of the Kempinski ballroom where illustrations, artwork and other final semester projects by continuing students in the fashion and Graphic design departments were showcased.

Nana Dwomoh-Sarpong, the chairman of the school reiterated the university’s resolve to churn out global fashion talents into the market.

Marian Sam Fletcher opened the show with a couture collection that featured needles and pins followed by an all men collection from Nelson Baah-Williams, Aisha Sim Ibrahim presented a collection of stunning array of evening wear and gowns as the third student to showcase.

The collection was full of graphic-tees, lovely head bands, shirts and skirts for girls as well.  For Bridal gowns and tulle-inspired clothing Hannah Kusi was spot on as her presentation featured them in good measure.

 Nhyira Yankyera, Paulina Crentsil and Jennifer Kyei were the last from the first section to present at the event with various collections including one for plus-sized women.

Section which was sponsored by Textile manufacturer, Woodin also saw collections from Precious Gadaagbui, Aisha Barau, Genevieve Quarshie, Florence Ashong, Dorcas Sodoke, Hajara Habibu and Amoh Doris.

 

Steve French Oduro closed the event with a bizzare yet interesting collection where he put out Parisian couture inspired by the Asylum system on the runway. It however received a lot of praise from the audience.
