Kano police have paraded three local bandits for killing a 27-year old student of Federal University of Education, Kano, Bashir Shehu.

The suspected killers are Ibrahim Mu’azu alias Iro-Dawa of Dan Agundi Quarters, Adamu Abdullahi alias Kura of Tukuntawa quarters and Muktari Hassan alias Gwari of Gandun Albasa quarters.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, paraded the suspected killers alongside dozens of Yandabas (bandits) at the Bompai Headquarters of Kano state Police Command, on Monday.

Majia said the bandits on July 9 attacked students studying at a class room in Rumfa College.

They maimed Bashir and his classmates who were having group discussion.

"A gang of notorious Yandabas jointly from Gandun Albasa, Dan Agundi and Tukuntawa areas of Kano metropolis," Majia said.

"They suddenly invaded the classroom and attacked them with cutlasses, knives, clubs and other dangerous weapons.

"They inflicted various degrees of injuries on Bashir’s head, chest and all over his body.

“They also broke his leg and abandoned him in his pool of blood."

The Spokesman said over 100 Yandabas have been arrested in a month.

He said 88 of them have been prosecuted, with 46 sentenced to one year imprisonment.
