Mahama scraps examination fee, SRC dues for Day Students

"Examination fees, library fees, SRC dues, entertainment fees, science development fees, Science and Maths quiz, culture, sports, ICT and co curriculum fees have all been absorbed by government".

President Mahama has revealed  government will leave no stone unturned to provide education for all senior high school student.

He said government will from the beginning of the new academic year absorb school fees of day students in public senior high schools across the country and  this will be extend to boarding students in due course.

President Mahama, speaking at the commission of  the Atta Mills Community Day Senior High School (SHS) at Ekumfi Otuam in the Central Region said, "For the purposes of clarity, let me announce that the following fees have been cancelled for all day students in Ghana, in all public senior schools and these are examination fees, library fees, SRC dues, entertainment fees, science development fees, Science and Maths quiz, culture, sports, ICT and co curriculum fees have all been absorbed by government".

The school is one of the 200 Community Day Schools promised by the governing party during the 2012 electioneering under the Free SHS policy.
