Believing strongly in the philosophy of “disability not inability”, and setting a target for himself to always challenge the status quo, Abdul spurred on to top his 2015 graduating Humanities class at the University of Ghana with an incredible FGPA of 3.92.

Abdul, who was among the hundreds of students who graduated this year from the University of Ghana, had his senior high school education at Wenchi SHS in the Brong Ahafo region where he read General Arts.

He subsequently proceeded to the University of Ghana for his tertiary education where he was offered Political Science, English, and Archaeology and took a major in Political Science.

Achievements at the University

In spite of his condition, Abdul managed to serve many leadership positions during his period of education at the University of Ghana. He was a student leader and in 2013-2014 became the organising secretary for the Campus Association of Students with special needs.

During that same period, he served as a representative of Mensah Sarbah Hall on the Students Representative Council’s General Assembly and a member of Political Science Students Association (POSSA) parliament as well.

He was in 2014-15 elected to the position of the welfare secretary of the Junior Common Room of Mensah Sarbah Hall.

What is more, Abdul loved sports and was thus a goalball player. He, together with the Legon Goal Ball team, won a gold trophy for the University of Ghana in the 2016 Ghana University Association (GUSA) games organised at the University of Education, Winneba.

Career Objectives

Abdul seeks to develop a career in global governance, diplomacy, and law. His dream, however, is to remain in academia where he hopes to contribute to the nation’s development through research and innovation.

Abdul further desires to contribute to community development through communal labour.
