Edinaman SHS wins Central Regional Science and Maths Quiz

The Edinaman Senior High School (SHS) has emerged winners of this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz with 52 points, beating closest contender, University Practice SHS with 36 points and Adisadel College with 28 points to lift the coveted trophy in the Central region.

Edinaman SHS gets GH¢1,000 whiles University Practice SHS and Adisadel received GH¢600 and GH¢400 respectively.

Wesley Girls SHS, Breman Esikuma, Kwanyarko, Potsin T.I Ahmadiyya, Mfantsipim, Holy Child, Aggrey Memorial, Oguaa Secondary Technical, Ghana National College, Mfantseman Girls and St. Augustine’s College participated in the competition.

Edinaman SHS is tasked with a huge responsibility of performing exceedingly well at the national level as the region is the defending champion in the National competition and is hoping to retain the title this year.

The competition, an initiative of the regional Education Directorate is geared towards preparing the regional representatives for the National Science and Maths Quiz competition.

The National Science and Maths Quiz is an educative program that brings students from the various high schools in Ghana to contest for cash prize and others.

It is also aimed at promoting the study of science and mathematics to develop the thinking and probing abilities of the students to help shape society.

2016 final

Adisadel College won the ultimate prize at the national level in 2016.

From the final competition held at the University of Ghana, Adisadel College won by 44 points, Opoku Ware School came second with 38 points and Mfantsipim School with 37 points taking the third place.
