NPP was right in selling Ghana Telecom- Kan-Dapaah insists

The John Agyekum Kufuor administration sold Ghana Telecom to Vodafone at an estimated price of $266.57 million in 2006 giving away 70% of the company to  Vodafone.

 

The John Agyekum Kufuor-administration sold Ghana Telecom to Vodafone at an estimated price of $900 million in 2008 giving away 70% of the company to  Vodafone.

However, Mr. Kan- Dapaah in an interview on said the sale of the company was the right thing to do at the time where government needed funds to rejuvenate the company and make it profitable.

Mr. Dapaah added that he feels proud to be a part of the administration which ushered Ghana Telecom into profitability.

“Do you appreciate it turns out to be one of the best economic decisions ever taken in this country? Dapaah quizzed saying that there haven’t been any regrets in the sale of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone.

"Look at how well they are doing in making profits and we are taking huge dividends from our shares,” he added.
