The Minister-designate for Procurement Sara Adwoa Safo has said that her role in the Nana Addo-led government will be to advise the government on procurement processes in the country.

She was answering questions posed to her by some members of the Parliament’s Appointments Committee when she appeared before it to be vetted for the position.

“My role will be to advise the government on procurement and make sure that we follow the procedure,” she said.

“I will ensure that there's transparency, fairness and integrity in the procurement process,” she added.

Successive governments have been accused of flouting the procurement laws of the country but Adwoa Safo said she will ensure the NPP government complies with the laws on procurement.

Many governments have also been accused of ignoring the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) when they are undertaking any procurement process.
