Civil servants shut down finance ministry

The workers barricaded the entrance and exit into the building, demanding the immediate sack of the Minister. They also accused her of incompetence.

Civil servants at the Federal Ministry of Finance on Monday shut down the headquarters of the ministry in Abuja over what they described as poor welfare since the assumption of office of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, Pulse Nigeria reports.

The aggrieved workers claimed they are being owed allowances and other welfare packages.

The workers also threatened to continue with the strike until their demands are met.
