Bawumia backs Otabil's criticism of government

Supporting the criticisms of the founder and head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church on the current  hikes in taxes,  Dr. Bawumia said

Running mate of the new patriotic party, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumiah has  promised corporate Ghana that an NPP government will not impose high as high as the current NDC administration has done in the past three years.

Government has imposed taxes on almost everything over the past three years. They have taxed neccessities like cutlasses, fertilizer inputs and even condoms.

“Today you have an unbelievable situation in Ghana where businesses are out on strike; businesses, which should be selling, are out on strike. Why are they on strike? Because they’ve been overburdened by taxes! And if you don’t take care, you’d be chasing the tax revenue and killing businesses and when you kill businesses, it means you are causing unemploymen

Dr. Mensa Otabli accused government of making the business environment very uncondusive for businesses to grow, saying that if Apple and Facebook had been founded in Ghana, they will not have grown as big as they have over the years.
