Government is currently in search of an alternative source of crude oil to run the country’s power plants as supply from Nigeria has seized, Deputy Energy Minister John Jinapor has revealed.
“We are having some problems with even crude supply that we have paid for [Nigeria] they have not been able to deliver the crude,” he told Joy Fm.

Over the weekend many parts of the capital, Accra, experienced outages for hours.
The Aboadze thermal enclave had to shed about 300 Megawatts of power last weekend due to the disruption in the supply of crude oil and a mechanical fault on one of the thermal plants in the Aboadze enclave resulted in the shedding of more than 300 megawatts of electricity.
